Orchestra Rehearsal

ADVANCED ORCHESTRA for strings, winds, and percussion (9:00A M-F, performance Friday) - Our most advanced orchestra for string, brass, wind, and percussion instruments. Playing and reading ability equivalent to Suzuki book 5 and above required. Adults and faculty of similar ability are welcome to participate at no extra charge. Music will be sent in early July. NOTE: For instruments other than strings, if enrollment is insufficient for a particular percussion, wind or brass instrument, those registrants will be assigned to an ensemble instead.

LATE BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE STRING ORCHESTRA (8:00A M-F, performance Friday) - An ensemble for string players with some orchestral experience who read reasonably well and for mid and late bk. 2 students just learning to note read. Students should be able to read in the keys of D, G, C, F and B flat, as well as the meters of 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, and 6/8. Less advanced book 2 students will be assigned easier parts than thn the bk. 3 and up students. The atmosphere is non-competitive, and seating will be determined by the director. The goal of the class is not necessarily to challenge reading levels of the participants. Instead, the goal is to encourage expression, learn to be sensitive to different voices and instruments, perform at a high standard, and develop orchestra skills. Music will be sent in early July.

FAMILY CHORUS (8:00A M-F, performance Friday.) - Family chorus will provide enjoyment for children, teens, and adults. The group will study and perform choral literature that will be geared to fun for all as well as learning a lot about singing techniques. The chorus will also learn some selections from THE LION KING to sing along with the family musical production on Friday.  Guaranteed to be a highlight! Parents are especially encouraged to join their children in this class at no extra charge. (all ages, parents free )

FAMILY MUSIC THEATRE - THE LION KING (Sunday, 11:00A-12:30P, M-Th, 11:00A & 2:15P,  F 1 PM -dress rehearsal, Friday evening performance) - Students of all ages and their parents are invited to learn selections from the Broadway musical.  Music will be sent four weeks in advance. Individual parts will be assigned at auditions at the first rehearsal on Sunday, July 25th.  However, emphasis will be on a group performance and a total team effort. This musical offers many fun solo parts, some parts may be doubled.  Dr. Hauck has produced and directed THE LION KING before and will bring special costumes and sets from that production. Assisting Dr. Hauck will be Audra Sloan and Alyssa Michaud.  In honor of IMF's 25th anniversary celebration, the final presentation will last one hour.  Parents may participate free of charge. (extra fee of $40.  This class meets an extra 6.5 hours) FOR MORE DETAILS, contact Dr. Robert Hauck, rrhauck@fuse.net
